Charlotte has been advising insurers for more than 15 years, with particular expertise in professional indemnity claims and coverage disputes.

She specialises in civil and commercial litigation with a strong focus on insurance. Charlotte has acted for a broad range of insureds and insurers, from individuals and small businesses to large corporates and multinational underwriters, and has appeared in tribunals, the District Court, High Court and Court of Appeal.

Charlotte’s experience spans professional indemnity claims (particularly relating to defective buildings), subrogated recoveries, marine matters, and complex coverage issues. She also represents clients in disciplinary proceedings and in investigations and prosecutions under the Resource Management Act 1991 and the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015. Time spent acting for insureds in London gives her valuable insight into the insured’s perspective, which she applies in her coverage work.

Outside work, Charlotte enjoys spending time with her family, often sailing on the Hauraki Gulf, and volunteers with Auckland Coastguard.
